France wildfires force mass evacuation


Wildfires in south-eastern France have forced the evacuation of ten,000 folks nightlong, officers say.
Hundreds of firefighters are deployed to battle the fires close to Bormes-les-Mimoses, within the country's Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region.
France earlier asked its EU neighbours for a lot of facilitate fighting the fires.
Some 4,000 hectares (15.4 sq miles) of land have burned on the Mediterranean coast, within the mountainous interior and on the island of Corsica.




"The evacuations, a minimum of ten,000, followed the progression of the hearth," a fireplace official was quoted as spoken communication by the fetoprotein agency.
